German Footballer Mario Götze

Mario Götze is a talented German football player who currently plays the position of attacking midfielder for the Borussia Dortmund club of the German Bundesliga league. He is a very versatile player, given the fact that he often lines up at right wing or in at central midfield instead of in his usual attacking position. In addition to playing for the Dortmund club, Götze is also a member of the German national team.

This is due to his speed, skill, creativity and intelligence. In fact, the technical director of the German Football Association, Matthias Sammer, once stated that Götze is one of the most impressive talents the association has ever had. On the downside, it is widely thought that Götze still has to learn certain aspects of the game if he wants to be a true superstar. Also, he has been criticized for his propensity to sometimes pick the wrong pass. Even though these reservations exist, the overwhelming opinion of Götze is that he is a great player who will only get better with time and experience.

Götze joined the Dortmund youth academy at the age of eight. He has been with Dortmund ever since. He made his debut in the Bundesliga in November of 2009 in a match against FSV Mainz 5 that ended in a 0-0 draw. The winter break of the 2009-2010 season saw Götze get promoted to the first team. This turned out to be a bold but ideal move, as Götze was instrumental in helping Dortmund win the Bundesliga championship that year.

Götze made his debut with the German national team in a senior match against Sweden in November of 2010. At the time, he was one of the first two players to play for Germany who were born after German reunification. Although Mario Götze has not yet made the impact on the team that he and his fans would like, it is only a matter of time before he becomes a prominent and valuable player to the team.
