Samuel Eto’o is a soccer player from Cameroon who currently plays on the Russian team Anzhi Makhachkala. He is a striker on the Russian team, and on the Cameroon national team, he is the captain. He was born on March 10th 1981, and he trained at the Kadji Sports Academy. Over the course of his career, he has earned numerous titles and awards.
In 1997, he joined Real Madrid but only to train with the B team. During the 1997 to 1998 season, he was loaned to CD Leganes. He played thirty times for that club and scored only four goals. At the end of the next season, he rejoined the Madrid team. In 1999, he was loaned to Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona, but he was never put in the game. He was then loaned to the RCD Mallorca team, and while with them, he scored six goals in nineteen games. At the end of that season, he permanently left Real Madrid, and he started playing permanently for RCD Mallorca. They paid him a record 4.4 million pounds. His fans loved him for his unique playing style, and in 2003, he earned even more fan support by donating 30,000 Euros to help feed fans who had traveled from Mallorca to Copa del Rey for the 2003 final game. That game was won 3 to 0, and Samuel Eto’o scored two goals at the end of the game to secure the victory for his team.
Samuel Eto’o left Mallorca’s team as the highest domestic scorer with 54 goals. He signed up to play with FC Barcelona, and he stayed with that team for the years 2004 to 2007.
